Waveney Jenkins

I have always been a little schizophrenic – on one hand loving to accurately depict every facet and angle of a person – or animal or bird’s, face and personality – but at the same time being even more interested in creating a flow of movement drawn from the life within the subject. Movement within the body, as in dancers, martial arts or swimming otters,.. flying birds; movement through use of techniques and surface detailing; movement in composition. These are the vital aspects that I address in my sculptures – be they portraits in bronze, abstracts in bronze or brass, studies of animals or birds. I am happy to accept commissions for portraits of children, adults or animals – please contact the gallery for more details.
