James Duggan

James is a local artist who is deeply passionate about figurative painting. He primarily paints large scale portraits of his acquaintances. These paintings range in size but are often two metres tall. James also paints life size figurative paintings; often these paintings include ambiguous cultural references. He paints in a realist style in order to capture the true essence of his sitters. His aim is to capture the human condition through the use of paint. James’s influences include great British painters such as Jenny Saville, Lucian Freud, and Francis Bacon.
James is currently available for commission on a limited basis.
