David is predominately known for his painting and prints which are frequently inspired by the dramatic land and seascapes of the Island. He has always enjoyed working in a wide variety of media including pastels, oils, acrylics, digital painting, etching, screen-printing and monotyping. David has combined his printing and collage skills to produce highly decorative hand bound Artist’s books. He has also produced sculptural work using various techniques including stained glass and found objects. He has taken part in numerous group shows and his solo exhibitions have always been very well received.
David won the Student Singer & Friedlander (IoM) competition in 1989 and the Singer & Friedlander (IoM) sculpture prize in 2004; He has represented the Island at the Inter Celtic Festival in Lorient, Brittany in both 2001 and 2010. Two of his highly evocative monotypes are held in the Manx National Collection.
